Ronovan writes #Decima #Poetry #20 Reflections of a morose minstrel

Gently he lays the guitar down

Under his breath the curses flow

Has he ever felt quite so low

A board from which escapes no sound

Frustrated, like a soulless clown

Chords that once held the crowd beguiled

Whipped to a frenzy, raging, wild

Sometimes thoughtful, glazed eyes with mist

Of nostalgia, memories once caressed

From frowning faces coax a smile.

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #94

I’ll tell you a tale about me and Jane

Playing snakes and ladders was our favourite game

Her stockings always got ladders

As she slid up and down the snake

We would happily play that game

Till it got very late

CCC #92

A lone yachts woman called Betty

noticed a split in her boat on the jetty

she showed her crack to Bill

who said it would be easy to fill

but in the end it made them quite sweaty.

we would never have to part

saving great sadness

I knew a woman called Lena

She worked in the pub as a cleaner

In her fur-lined coat and hat

Everyone said she looked a right twat

But she imagined herself as Czarina

buried for five thousand years

blinking in new light
