safe in ignorance,
silver-scaled serpent, slumbers
in his snow clad nest,
overhead his nemesis,
pennant raised, prepares his lance
Ashen faced, the skies
discharge leaden, liquid cargo,
to the playful breeze,
now their voyage is complete,
gifting life to Mother Earth.
Long Meg stood alone,
where had all the dancers gone,
no posy to hold,
just one solitary tear
rolled slowly down her cold cheek
Around the table
the Olympians gathered,
Zeus took up the dice,
to them ‘‘t’was just a pastime,
for Troy it could mean peril.
They said what’s the point?
I said it’s an obsession
then they turned away,
their heads shaking as they went
but I shall keep on laughing
Air smelling of stars
a breeze playfully whispers
to beckoning crabs,
scuttling over crystal sands
to drink from a cyan sea
Following the ox
in a cumbersome progress
over rough pastures,
he wears, but we share, the yoke
as from dawn to dusk we toil
Over silent hills
once green, now crystal shrouded
spires, stand silently,
through these frozen pyramids
a playful tempest shrieking
her face framed in furnace fire
slowly raised her eyes
memories of fragrant blooms
fragile, fading, as of glass
Alone in her room
she dons mascara and rouge
hoping to allure.
What secrets may be hidden
underneath the painted smile.
Embrace your unrestricted nature and surrender your soul to the power of the invincible…
