With jaunty tail curl,

boater in place, cane gripped in paw

feel quite the Topcat

A Devonshire poet called Doug

Found himself in a fug

Tried to write something exotic

But found it quixotic

So gave it up with a shrug

Using words that were minimal

but chosen to be optimal

she emphasised her situation

as the darling of the nation.

A horse, a good clean animal.

Answering a question from where

sitting in the director’s chair,

not while standing in a stable

these wise words from Betty Grable

whilst others tended to her hair.

She was walking her dog through the trees

When she felt that she needed to pee

So she told him to stay

But the naughty boy ran away

While her panties were down round her knees

Specially chosen by the people

fed up with their frequent shower

cascading on their pious heads

from the gaps in their church spire

Setting off to climb the steeple
