I don’t really know a lot about trees
but I feel that I might recognise these leaves
as you stroll through the countryside
just cast your eyes up to the skies
and if you are in a grove of apple trees
you may see in the branches clumps of these
and just in case you still don’t know
it’s a parasite plant we call mistletoe
once sacred to the Druids nowadays this is
the one to stand under if you want to be kissed
A reminder that Christmas can’t be far away.
I enjoyed your take on the photo prompt.

Excellent, Bobby
Though I might point out that while Druids revered mistletoe growing on apple or oak, I’ve found mistletoe growing on willow, ash, poplar, lime and, as here, hawthorn. Those birds, they’ll plant the berries anywhere

As birds usually, I am led to believe, defecate whilst either taking off or landing it probably depends on which tree they have been or are thinking of resting upon

Indeed yes. There is a quarter of Norfolk where nearly every tree supports the mistletoe
