Crimson’s Creative Challenge #271 #Rather ribald fantasy

Long, tall Sally, standing true
doing the job she was made to do
on her head an iron crown
bare legs firmly on the ground
stockings of ivy grasping her thighs
any higher and then stop, she’ll cry

Sammiscribbles weekend writing prompt #346 #Overloaded NHS

I’m very keen on the great outdoors
rambling over hill and moors
but yesterday set a precedent
as I had a minor accident
my first aid skills are not too good
so I decided that I should
let a professional have a look
rather than checking my St. John’s book
whilst negotiating stony ground
my knee gave way and I fell down
as it needed more than ointment
I rang up for an appointment
but as is the norm nowadays
I couldn’t be seen for fourteen days

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #270 #The scourge of litter

It looks like someone needs some help
their golden bin is covered with kelp
but this is not where it should be

let’s find a place where it is needed
people will smile each time they feed it

Sammiscribbles weekend writing prompt #345 #Travel advice for those seeking adventure

not a local taxi driver or someone like Tonto
who showed The Lone Ranger the way to go
I’d suggest getting one to read
that’s the type you will need.

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #269 #Buried in the sands of time

I was clearing away the brambles and nettles
and on the ground saw the glint of metal
then I realised that what I’d got
was an intact ancient Roman pot
they nearly always have a story
a history that is often gory
for some contain just powdered ash
others are often stuffed with cash
coins of copper, silver or gold
and all of them so very old
