In Porlock Bay there was a great squall
that cut the tow of the Forest Hall
the Watchet lifeboat couldn’t launch there
so they called the boys from Lynmouth fair
without hesitation their brave men
said we will do what we can for them,
over hill and moor they dragged their boat
and from Porlock bay set her afloat
they set off from Porlock beach
so that those poor crew they then could reach
you may not believe but this is true
how they saved the lives of that ship’s crew.
That is a moving slice of history. I knew, with your personal history, that you’d give us something good. And I wish the New Year brings you something good 🙂

Sadly I fear I may never recapture even a fraction of the really good years but Thanks anyway.
