I was out birdwatching with my friend Dean
when we came across this wondrous scene
though we may think it looks so neat
ducks and geese can find nothing to eat
so instead of ducks with their tails in the air
sadly there seemed to be no bird life there
so in my pocket I will carry a loaf of bread
then throw it for them to eat instead

It is true, there is no food for ducks and geese when water is frozen. Although on this occasion a couple of mallards took to the air as we arrived, so perhaps they were finding food somewhere 😊
