I looked at the word froward as you might, and thought surely this cannot be right, for even though I’m quite good with words, this was one that I had never heard so as I found the word intriguing I looked on Google for its meaning

O’er hill and dale, from forests green
came fairies , denizens of dreams
for as was the custom in this land
a trial was set to claim the hand
of the fair and beautiful Trixie,
daughter of the King of pixies
From northern lands came Knghts and Lords,
all were armed with lance or sword
warrior magicians, heroes, clerics,
and dark skinned Sheikhs and mystics
their swords and scimitars made of gold
eager to claim this prize foretold
in legends and their country’s fables
discussed at length o’er dining tables
in an enchanted forest this cottage stands
invisible to any mortal man
but if somehow this house be seen
t’would appear nought but a dream

Your majesty, she coyly said,
as with downturned eyes
and sideways glance
she slowly raised her head
to gaze in unashamed awe
and though she wore a wedding dress
while the Prince in his magnificence
gazed upon the beauty that he saw

On one cold moonlit Saturday night
while resting in the glow of the firelight
when suddenly without warning we all
heard a tap tap tapping on the kitchen wall
mother said to us now how strange is that
could it be a mouse or perhaps a rat
you know what these old places are like
when lots of things seem to go bump in the night

We all knew Lizzie was a popular girl
spent all of her life in a social whirl
everyone thought her quite gregarious
but she was embarrassed by her hairy ass
because outside her panties you could see her curls

Within the tree lined glade there stands
a fortress, coffin-like though bland
roughly thrown up so it would seem
from pine or even old oak beams
by some amateur craftsman’s hand

She holds a mirror in her hand
despite a garb of lurid hue
considers her reflection bland
and to change it what should she do
perhaps a maid could comb her hair
pile it high on top of her head
showing off her countenance fair
chalk white skin and full lips so red
or should she emphasise her neck
in all it’s finely sculpted length
on golden chains with pearls bedecked
giving a hint of hidden strengths
in the end she turns with a sigh
bored she casts the mirror aside

As we were walking down the street
we thought we’d find a place to eat
a place had opened recently
so as locals it was a matter of decency
we’d go in and would see if it’s a
place that does a really nice pizza
but after the meal we left a bit rapid
our Italian meal was simply vapid
