Big-boned Betty would often saunter
along the beach so that she could flaunt her
ample assets provokingly attired
in a style that everyone admired
because she always looked so dashing
as she paraded the latest bikini fashion
no-one knew how she got her name
but called her that just the same

often going on Saturday night
to his local pub for a pint
then go home to his wife
making his way across the moor
but one day he was very late
his wife worried about his fate
till he came in through the door
claiming he’d been pixie led
with a smile his worried wife said
next time fool, here’s what you do

my guitar riffs were oh so slick
but now even I’m too old my day is done
so I spend my time sitting in the sun

over the mountains would come a hush
just the song of a single thrush
his liquid song like crystal clear
and all would pause the notes to hear
while every day his song we heard

when asked how old no one seemed to know
but they were placed there long ago

who was rather free with wedding rings
and got wed a full six times
giving rise to a nursery rhyme
his throne was destined for another
but untimely death befell his brother
his temerity to all was clear
but soon he began to rely on fear
and by his capricious nature
those once called friend now often traitor
